About Me
Starting Fresh: My Journey to Arizona and the Joys of a Newly Remodeled Home
Hello, everyone!
I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you all—I’ve officially moved to Arizona and I couldn’t be more excited! It feels like the perfect time for this new adventure, especially with my newly remodeled home finally ready for me to settle in. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions, but the end result is a space that I’m proud to call my own. Let me take you through this incredible journey and share a bit about what’s in store for my new life in the Grand Canyon State.
A New Chapter in the Desert
I’ve always been drawn to starting fresh in a new place. Arizona, with its stunning landscapes and vibrant culture, seemed like the perfect backdrop for this next chapter in my life. Especially coming from Minnesota, I am sick of the cold weather! I have been coming out to Arizona at least once a year to visit some family I have here. I always loved those vacations and now I am here all year round. I have enjoyed being out here and getting to know my grandma better too. so far the summer has been hot but I will take that anyway over the frigid winters.
The Remodel: Turning a House into a Home
The remodeling process was both exhilarating and exhausting. I had a clear vision of what I wanted, and working with contractors helped bring it to life. The whole thing with about seven months over what was predicted and there were a bunch of mishaps along the way, but I am finally completely moved in.
One of my favorite updates is the kitchen. As someone who loves cooking, having a modern, well-designed kitchen was a must. I opted for a sleek, open layout with plenty of counter space on the island. I added a pop of color with the green island and could display some of my kitchen items with the open shelving. Cooking here feels like an absolute joy, and I can’t wait to experiment with new recipes and host dinner parties for friends and family.
A Green Oasis: House Plants and Decor
In addition to cooking, I have a passion for home decor and house plants. My new space is filled with a variety of indoor plants that not only add a touch of nature but also help purify the air and create a calming atmosphere. I am new to being a plant parent but they are all still alive so I’m taking that as a win!
Decorating has been a fun adventure in itself. I’ve mixed modern and bohemian styles to create a space I love to be in. I could furnish most of the house from things I bought from estate sales. It is fun to go to a bunch and see what kinds of treasures you can find, plus you can find some fantastic deals!
Embracing New Experiences
Moving to a new state also means exploring new hobbies and interests. I’m excited to dive into, try out new restaurants, meet new people, and find some hiking paths. Arizona’s diverse landscape offers endless opportunities for adventure, and I plan to make the most of it. It is always a fun time going up to Sedona, Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, and many other places.
Looking Ahead
As I settle into my new home, I’m filled with a sense of anticipation and gratitude. This move represents a fresh start and an opportunity to embrace new experiences. I look forward to sharing my journey with all of you, from home decor tips, new house plants and cooking experiments to exploring the beauty of Arizona.
Thank you for joining me on this adventure. Here’s to new beginnings and the joy of making a house truly feel like a home!
Until next time,
Jessica
